Linda Paulsen, a Utah artist and painter friend
wanted us to build a stained glass that would be similar to a painting she
did of her grand daughter.
This is the painting she wanted us to base the design on. |
We came up with a design which would fit in the window she had in mind. The only change she wanted was a shadow line in the arm so that it had more depth. |
When we got it done, the only thing she didn't like was the shadow line on the arm. |
So we broke it out. |
Cut out another piece. |
And replaced it. It really does look better without that shadow. Stained glass is different than paint. We often have to give up on subtleties of we have to use the glass to create an impression of reality. |
During bright sunlight periods there is a shadow line on the panel which is hardly noticeable at other times of the day. |
| This view shows some of the drama of the installed window. They had us build it smaller than their window so it could hang in the opening easily and they can take it with them if they ever move. | |
